After signing in, choose "Create a household," give it a name, and you're set up. You can invite others right away or start adding chores solo.

From Settings, generate an invite code and share it however's easiest — text, message, whatever. Whoever you send it to enters the code when they sign up or from their own Settings to join your household. Invite codes aren't stored anywhere as plain text on our end, and you can rotate (regenerate) yours at any time if you think it's been shared too widely.

Sign in, then enter the invite code they sent you when prompted during onboarding (or from Settings if you already have an account without a household). You can only belong to one household at a time.

Tap Add Chore and fill in a name, how long it takes, how often it repeats, and a few optional details (category, effort level, notes). You can also use Quick Add for something fast, dictate it by voice, or let AI suggest a starter set for your household (see "AI features" below).

Tap an unclaimed chore on the wheel or in the chore list and claim it. Once you've called it, your household can see it's yours — that's the whole point of Dibs.

Yes — set a repeat frequency in days or weeks when you create or edit a chore, and it'll reset on schedule.

If you turn on Calendar Sync in Settings, Dibs can show your existing calendar events alongside your chores, import your current week's events as chores, and add chores you create in Dibs to your device Calendar. Reminders access, if you grant it, is read-only — Dibs shows your due Reminders but never creates or edits them. Full detail on exactly what gets uploaded is in our Privacy Policy.

That's the import feature working as designed — Calendar Sync brings your existing calendar events into your household's chore list, visible to your household like any other chore. If you don't want that, turn off Calendar Sync in Settings and delete the imported chores you don't want (turning sync off doesn't remove ones already imported).

Go to Settings → Notifications and enable the types you want (chore reminders, team-up alerts, morning/evening summaries), and set how many minutes before a chore starts you'd like a heads-up.

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Dibs and make sure notifications are allowed, and check that Do Not Disturb / Focus modes aren't silencing them. Dibs' reminders are scheduled locally on your device — if notifications are allowed at the OS level and still not showing up, try toggling the relevant reminder type off and back on in Dibs' own Settings.

Think Out Loud breaks a vague task into concrete chores. The AI Daily Planner builds a schedule around a goal you type. Starter Chores suggests an initial chore list for your household type. AI batch generation creates several chores at once from a short description. All four generate suggestions you review and choose to accept — nothing is added automatically.

No. It sees only what's relevant to the request — the text you type, your chore catalog's names and durations, and your schedule where relevant. It never receives your name, email, or any other household member's personal information. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.

Dibs uses Sign in with Apple, Google, or Snapchat — there's no separate Dibs password to create, remember, or reset. If you're having trouble signing in, it's almost always an issue with that provider's own account (for example, being signed out of your Apple ID), not with Dibs.

In-app: Settings → Delete Account — it's immediate, no waiting period. Full instructions, and exactly what gets removed, are on our Data Deletion page.

Your chores get unassigned and your message-board posts stay visible but are no longer attributed to you — the same as what happens on account deletion (see the Data Deletion page), except your account itself stays alive so you can join or create another household.

Not yet — Dibs Plus, our optional premium tier, isn't purchasable as of this page's date. When it launches, purchases and cancellations will go through Apple's App Store, and we'll update this page and our Terms of Service with the specifics.
